
Core Modules –
Inventory Management – The backbone and core of BarControl Enterprise Manager – complete real time management of warehouse inventory and location data. This module includes the tracking of inventory by locations from building, warehouse, zone, and location to sub-location, pallet and carton. Complete transaction management and ease of use assure the highest level of inventory accuracy – from receipt to issue, transfers to adjustments, cycle counts and full physical inventories.
Inventory History – While the Inventory Module tracks data in real time, the Inventory History Module tracks all inventory transactions performed on the system providing a complete audit trail of all inventory receipts, transfers, QC status changes, physical inventory count scans, physical inventory and cycle count inventory changes and inventory issues. A wealth of reporting data is at hand.
Base Modules –
Utilities – BarControl Enterprise Manager provides a host of utilities to allow an administrator control of such things as security settings, import and export of data, individual screen layouts, adding and deleting reports from the system and controlling document numbering sequencing. Flexibility of configuration at startup and by an administrstor after installation is quick and simple by design.
Lookups (Standards) – For standardization and validation of data entry, the BarControl Enteprise Manager has a host of Lookup (Standards) tables to assure uniform data entry. From locations to employees, warehouses to customers, vendors to carriers, there is a standards table available to control and validate data entry by system users. Lookups (drop downs with query capabilities) are available on workstation and mobile browser access, scan validation by RF devices.
Reporting – Powerful and robust, utilizing the current version of Crystal Reports, any information required is but a few keystrokes away. BarControl Enterprise Manager is installed with a supply of standard reports, but any custom reports required can be supplied as well. Users can also write reports using Crystal and seamlessly introduce them to the system as additional standard reports. Also available are both quick and detailed query capabilities, along with adhoc report building functionality.
RF / Data Collection – Considered the industry standard in resl time transaction data capture for warehousing, RF data capture is used in conjunction with fixed data capture devices, mobile devices such as tablets and workstation entry screens to assemble the most efficient combination for the client site. Different RF devices are available from handheld, wearable and forklift mounted to meet site requirements.
Bar Code Labeling – Bar code labeling is the industry standard in item and location identification. Formatted to meet site specific requirements and customer needs, a multitude of bar code types are available for use in industry standard and custom label formats. Portable label printers coupled to RF devices make quick and efficient work of label generation, as well as error reduction.
Expansion Modules –
Asset Management / History – An expansion module formatted similarly to the Inventory Module, is designed for the tracking of tools, equipment and furniture. Information such as value, installation date, location, assignee, functionality status and home location are tracked in real time. A history section tracks all asset related transactions performed from receipt through discard.
Maintenance / Work Orders / History – Also an expansion module designed to work with both the Inventory Module and the Asset Module; create work orders on the fly or setup routine maintenance / calibration events that generate work orders based on time and use. Spare parts are tracked using the Inventory Module, and the related history section retains a complete asset maintenance history.
Procurement Modules –
Requisitions / History – Requisitions can be added manually or generated automatically using min / max data, vendor units, pricing and preferences information at the individusl warehouse level. The approval process is scalable and tailored to each individual warehouse. Once approved, requisitions roll to the Purchasing Module with a detailed copy saved in the history section.
Purchase Orders / History – Purchase Orders may be created on the fly but generally roll in from the Requisition Module. Printing available includes purchase order forms, receiving documents and even receiving packets of bar code labels. Purchase orders are reconciled real time through inventory transactions. Once completed and closed, purchase orders are saved in complete detail in the history section.
Advance Notification Modules –
ASN’s InBound / OutBound – InBound ASN’s are accepted for inbound inventory, customer RMA inventory items and vendor RMA replacement items. OutBound ASN’S can be generated for customer shipments, customer RMA replacement items and vendor RMA shipments. ASN’s are automatically reconciled through inventory transactions. Once completed and closed ASN details are saved in their respective history section.
Fulfillment Modules –
Quote / Order Management / History – Orders may be entered manually, entered and revised through a quote section first utilizing an approval process, or entered from remote locations. Orders are reconciled automatically through inventory transactions with status changes generally confirmed by review. Once Orders are complete and closed they are saved in detail in the history section.
Order Picking/Packing – Order picking is sent to the floor through a unique dispatcher screen, allowing the manager to group and control the pick methods, equipment requirements and priority. Picking can be directed using paper pick lists, paperless RF directed picking, pick by label, among other methods available. Options include directed staging and load sequencing.
Reverse Logistics Modules –
Customer / Vendor RMA’s – The Customer and Vendor RMA Modules allow for manual entry of RMA information, or RMA information can be forwarded / imported from the Customer or Vendor. RMA reconciliation is automatically performed through inventory transactions. Once completed and closed, customer and vendor RMA information in total detail is moved to the respective history section.
Reverse Logistics Processing – The Reverse Logistics Module handles the difficlut task of all the processing steps involved in handling customer returns; RMA validation, inventory receipt, order updating, inspection and categorization, QC of those items that require functionality testing, assignment of item disposition (rebox, refurb, vendor RMA, scrap, etc.), validation of item staging and shipment of dispositioned items.
Data Access Module –
Audit Trail – The Audit Trail tracks system activity in key tables other than those performed by transactions; all record inserts, deletions and editing of records is tracked including past field values, time and date of change, and records the user that performed the changes. This information is available for query and reporting, and visible through the workstations to those granted security access.
Performance Metrics – Crystal Reports is undoubtedly one of the most powerful report writers in the industry, but for extremely complex reporting needs, the Metrics Module takes things a step further. Coupling custom solution tables with automated routines to populate and update the tables, these tables make assembling the most complicated inventory trends or forecasting reports a simple task.
